How To Unlock Huawei E5372 Modems

Unlocking of modem is of great importance because it allows users to use alien sims( Sims not from the modem manufacturer) on their modems. Modems limit their sim usage the their network manufacturer and any sim inserted into the modem will be of no use. Huawei E5372 modems such as Swift, Smile, Spectranet and other Huawei E5372 modems allow only their Sims ti be used in those modems. With this tutorial, you will be able to use alien Sims on those modems.

The folllowing are steps to Unlock Huawei E5372 Modems


1. Firstly, power off your Modem and check the back of the Modem for your IMEI NUMBER
2. Get an unlocking code for your modem with the IMEI from any Huawei Online Calculator(charges may apply) online or drop the Modem details HERE, If will give you the unlocking code  
3. Remove the Modem manufacturer sim and insert an alien sim into the modem
4. Turn it on and I will show Sim Locked.
5. Connect it to your Pc via cable or Wifi
Navigate to your web browser and type  http://192.168.8.1 (This is the Default Interface of Huawei E5372 Mifi Router) in the Url section
It will indicate Sim lock and might tell you to login in with your username and password. You can check the Modem Manual for the default username and password If you have not changed yours. For Swift 4G LTE, the default username and password is web

6. Enter the Unlocking Code gotten from the Huawei Calculator or given from the link above
If you attempt the code more than twice and it didn't unlock, don't bother typing it because If you  typed a wrong code more than 7 times, your modem will be locked permanently unless you flash it.
7.Now navigate to ADVANCED SETTINGS >> SIM SETTINGS >> UNLOCK DEVICE >> ENTER THE UNLOCK CODE >> APPLY
You have successfully unlocked your modem.
