How To Root and Install TWRP Recovery Tecno W4

Tecno W4 is Tecno’s first phone to run on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).  It features a 5inch touchscreen that displays content in HD at a resolution of up to 1280 x 720 pixels.

Rooting Tecno W4 with the latest Kingroot or Framaroot or other rooting apps is quite impossible.

How To Safely Root Tecno W4

• Install vcom drivers in your PC. Tutorial guide here

• Save the SuperSU.zip that you downloaded to your phone's SD card

• Download TWRP for Tecno W4, Unzip the TWRP zip file that you downloaded and send to your pc

• Switch off the phone (still with battery inside)

• Flash the TWRP recovery.img to the phone using SP Flash tool
🔸Launch your Sp Flash Tools
🔸Load the scatter file from the Sp flash Tools
🔸Navigate and select the scatter file in the unzip Twrp folder
🔸Tick just recovery in the Sp flash
🔸In the select option on Sp flash tools put Download  only
🔸Click Download

• Now Boot the phone into recovery mode using Volume up button + Power button

• In TWRP Recovery Mode, if you get a prompt asking you to swipe to allow TWRP modify the system partition then go ahead and swipe. To swipe, place your finger on the green circle then slide it to the right

• In TWRP recovery, tap Install

• Navigate to the location of the SuperSU.zip and select it

Swipe to confirm flashing of SuperSU.zip and wait till flashing is complete

• Reboot the phone normally
