Blackberry, Java, and Symbian users should be very excited with the caption. Whatsapp CEO has decided to extend the support end date for some devices until 2017 even if some Telcos are giving up on some of the devices like Etisalat.
Etisalat stepped down their support for Blackberry Classic users by bringing the BIS Plan to an end. So BB users, who still love and stick to their devices would have to devise other means to enjoy Whatsapp without BIS plan because other Networks will follow suit soonest.
This extended end date does not cover all devices as earlier revealed to be blocked by Whatsapp in February. Some of the device that won't enjoy this grace until June 30, 2017, as enumerated below;
- BlackBerry OS
- BlackBerry 10
- Nokia S40
- Nokia Symbian S60
As you can see from the list Android 2.2 users are excluded as support date is December 31st, 2016.
Here's What Whatsapp said:
As announced in our blog, we will soon be ending support for certain devices. On June 30, 2017, we will no longer support the following platforms: BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10, Nokia S40, Nokia Symbian S60.
Well, the extended time is enough for you to upgrade your device to a better device like Android because that’s the trending bae.
