CyanogenModSoon Be Shutting Down Their Services And Operations

Bad news! Almost all Android users knows about CyanogenMod and it's company called Cyanogen which has really helped many Android users to provide customized firmwares for supported Android devices to improve speed and performance from not lagging, long lasting battery life, change of phone interface and many wonderful features it has provided.

So Cyanogen OS is shutting down operations and services on 31st of december, 2016. Not only that, development on nightly builds will cease from that day onwards.

However, CyanogenMod mod which is the open source Android based operating system developed and maintained by the community didn't forget Android totally but left open-source initiative behind called Lineage. So if you are a developer, you can continue working on the source code as personal project which is the only way the ROM will live and be able to build your own CyanogenMod.

Read what Cyanogen said about this in a blog post;

As part of the ongoing consolidation of Cyanogen, all services and Cyanogen-supported nightly builds will be discontinued no later than 12/31/16. The open source project and source code will remain available for anyone who wants to build CyanogenMod personally.

So CyanogenMod is gone and indeed a bad news.
